James Xu, FSA, FCIA, MAAA, FNZSA
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
James brings over 18 years of experience across the insurance and financial services industry, spanning life insurance, P&C, reinsurance, and banking. He leads Xu Consulting Group with deep expertise in actuarial model development, IFRS 17 and LDTI implementation, and insurance product analytics. James is proficient in leading actuarial platforms including Prophet, AXIS, ALFA, Aon PathWise, and PolySystems, and is known for his ability to bridge the gap between actuarial science and IT - turning complex technical challenges into practical business outcomes. He holds the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA), Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and Fellow of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries (FNZSA) designations.
Leo Poon, FSA
Senior Actuarial Consultant
Leo brings approximately 20 years of reinsurance expertise spanning markets across Asia and Europe. He attained his FSA designation in 2010 and specializes in inforce management, retrocession, and financial reporting under IFRS 17, Embedded Value, and US GAAP frameworks. Leo is proficient in Aon PathWise and AXIS modeling platforms, along with Python, R, SQL, and SAS.
Laurence Bai, FSA
Senior Actuarial Consultant
Laurence brings over 20 years of life insurance experience across Asia and North America. He attained his FSA designation in 2019 and specializes in financial reporting, capital management, ALM, and pricing. His expertise spans Solvency II, HK RBC, IFRS 17, US GAAP, and LDTI frameworks. Laurence is proficient in FIS Prophet and Aon PathWise modeling platforms.
Jason Li

Jason holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science and Statistics from the University of Toronto and has passed SOA Exams P, FM, and FAM. He specializes in data analytics and risk modeling, with proficiency in Python, SQL, R, Power BI, Excel VBA, and Tableau.
